Unlike earlier Pianet models, these instruments did not originally include a dedicated voicing tool. This version has been designed by us specifically for accurate, controlled pickup adjustment during servicing and setup. It is the same tool we use in our own restorations. If you see this tool anywhere else, its a copy of our design!

What Is Voicing?

Voicing a Pianet involves adjusting the pickup position relative to each reed to achieve:

• Even output volume across the keyboard
• Consistent tonal balance from bass to treble
• Proper dynamic response

Each pickup can be adjusted closer to or further from the reed.

• Closer to the reed:
  • Higher output
  • More aggressive, slightly overdriven character
  • Increased harmonic content
• Further from the reed:
  • Lower output
  • Cleaner, more bell-like tone
  • Softer attack

Because pickup distance directly affects output level, significant adjustments must be made carefully. Large changes can easily create volume imbalance across notes.

Dual-Ended Design

This tool features two working ends:

• Primary adjustment end – For larger pickup position changes
• Fine adjustment end – For gently nudging pickups forward or backward for precise voicing

The design allows controlled movement without stressing the pickup assembly or surrounding components.
