Possum Service Consent & Waiver
By using our services, you agree to the following terms:

By engaging Possum Piano (also known as Possum) for tuning, maintenance, or repair services, you authorise us to carry out the requested work on your instrument.

Pianos and electro-mechanical instruments are delicate and often aging machines. If any strings, wires, or internal components are rusted, brittle, or compromised, they may break or fail during routine service. Similarly, the increased tension from tuning may worsen pre-existing structural issues such as cracks in the soundboard, plate, or tuning block—particularly in instruments not strong enough to handle standard string tension.

Please also note that older electronic instruments may carry electrical risks due to worn insulation, grounding issues, or faulty power components. Possum takes reasonable care when working on such equipment, but by using our services you acknowledge these inherent risks and release us from liability in the rare case of electric shock or damage related to internal electrical faults.

You acknowledge and accept these risks and release Possum from liability for any incidental damage (including broken strings or structural cracks) that may occur during the normal course of tuning or repair.

Pianos are also sensitive to environmental changes—especially fluctuations in temperature and humidity—which can cause issues such as sticking keys or pitch instability. These conditions are outside of Possum’s control and are considered part of the natural behaviour of the instrument.

If your instrument has gone untuned for an extended period, additional work may be necessary to stabilise the pitch and tone. You understand that bringing a neglected piano back to proper function may require multiple visits, and that older or corroded parts may be more prone to failure when adjusted.

In the event your piano or instrument needs to be moved before service, Possum is not responsible for any damage to floors, walls, stairs, or doorways during repositioning. If the technician is asked to access your property in your absence, you agree to provide clear instructions and accept responsibility for any access-related issues.

By using our services, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the instrument or have permission to authorise the work. If not, you accept full responsibility for any claims arising from the services performed.

If you have any concerns or questions before work begins, feel free to get in touch—we’re happy to help.
