Wurlitzer 200A Capacitor Kit

$68.00

A comprehensive electrolytic capacitor kit for servicing the power supply and amplifier sections of the Wurlitzer 200A. Designed for preventative maintenance and restoration work, this kit replaces the ageing electrolytics most commonly responsible for noise, instability, and power-related faults in 200A models.

Over time, original capacitors drift in value, dry out, or develop elevated ESR. This can result in hum, weak output, distortion, tremolo irregularities, or intermittent behaviour. Replacing these components restores proper filtering, stabilises rail voltage, and improves overall reliability.

What This Kit Covers

  • Main power supply filter capacitors

  • Amplifier board electrolytics

  • Preamp and signal path electrolytics

  • Tremolo circuit electrolytics

All values are selected to match original circuit requirements for the 200A revision. Modern, high-quality replacements are supplied with appropriate voltage ratings and temperature specifications suitable for long-term operation.

Why Recap?

Typical symptoms of ageing capacitors in a 200A include:

  • Excessive hum

  • Reduced headroom

  • Inconsistent tremolo

  • Low output level

  • Background hiss or instability

Even if your instrument is currently functional, many units are now decades beyond the expected service life of their original electrolytics. Proactive replacement reduces the likelihood of future failure and protects surrounding components from stress caused by failing capacitors.

Important Notes

  • Intended for the Wurlitzer 200A (not earlier 200 or 140 series models).

  • Professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with amplifier servicing.

  • Always discharge filter capacitors and follow safe servicing procedures.

Servicing Available

If you would prefer the work carried out professionally, we are able to replace the capacitors for you and provide full servicing for your Wurlitzer.
